Yesterday afternoon, an inquiry arrived via WhatsApp asking if a discovery dive was possible. We quickly adjusted our schedule to prepare for a dive at Beomseom the next morning (Saturday), and headed to Beomseom with fluttering hearts to welcome the family guests who came from afar overseas. The parents were experienced divers who had visited dive spots around the world like Thailand, Dahab, and Australia; the older daughter was on her second dive, and the younger daughter on her very first. True to their rich diving experience, they told many stories of the Red Sea, a famous dive spot. Conversation overflowed with affection for the sea and diving, including recommendations that we definitely must go see how beautiful the sea there is.
They were fascinated and delighted to see the lift on the Jeju diving boat. Since they came for a discovery dive with their two daughters this time, instead of stepping in standing up, they enjoyed the special experience of going down comfortably into the sea via the lift just like their daughters. On this day, Beomseom's sea showed very mild and cozy conditions with a water temperature of 27°C at a 7m depth. The autumn sky was also refreshingly magnificent, allowing everyone to start the dive in high spirits. Seeing the kids delight in the various fish of Jeju's sea after entering, I handed them our secret weapon: a . It was wonderful to watch them fall deep into the fun of shining it into rock crevices one by one to find hidden fish. Discovering something in a new sea still seems like a joyful experience even for experienced divers.
The older daughter's adaptability was also impressive. Even on her second dive, she equalized with no issues, her eyes going wide and waving every time she spotted a fish. It was so cute how naturally she posed whenever we took pictures. Seeing the older daughter surface after the dive and say "Oh, fantastic!" to her dad filled my heart with pride too.
The father also said, "Jeju's sea is very alluring because it has a unique charm of its own." In particular, the fun of stealing a glance at schools of fish floating and life in rock crevices in the warm, comfortable autumn sea is a unique joy felt only in Jeju.
No matter how advanced IT and AI tech are, unfamiliar overseas destinations still have many moments where minor help is needed for foreign travelers. That's why we at Dive Map are always happy to help travelers with practical things like or , even if it's not diving-related work. I hope today's dive remains an unforgettable good memory of Jeju for this family. If those pleasant memories linger and they visit Jeju's sea again someday, we would be beyond delighted.
